A good afghanite crystal from the famous Sar-e Sang, Afghanistan. Afghanite is a rare aluminosilicate and Sar-e Sang is the type locality. It displays a sharp, well-formed and complete all over hexagonal prism of 10mm. It has a deep blue color. It is slightly translucent and matt lustrous. For references see the issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 45, # 3, May-June 2014. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
