Knappenwand is a world famous mineral locality for fine Epidote-Byssolite and this is an aesthetic specimen. The Epidote crystals have dark olive-green color. They are lustrous and strongly light reflective. On a strong backlight they reveal marvelous gemminess and transparency. Minor white Albite adds a nice accent. Displays beautifully all over 360 degree. For references The Mineralogical Record, vol. 17, pp 167-181. Some contacts. On acrylic base.

Knappenwand specimens are not common, always highly prized and this is an exquisite piece!
