A sparkling specimen from garnet var. grossular var. chromian over diopside base from this less common Quebec mine – Orford Nickel mine. The small grossular crystals have deep grass–green color due to chromium. They have a sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit and strong luster. Some small black chromite inclusions are seen too. The mine is closed since long time. In very good condition. On acrylic base.
Marvelous!
