A pleasing specimen of pink colored grossular garnet crystals with diopside and white albite from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The grossular crystals up to 1mm are transparent and gem quality. They are with a glassy luster and pleasing, tender pink color. They have a sharp rhombic dodecahedral habit. Small apple-green diopside needles cover the base. The pink grossulars contrast nicely on the white background. Very rare pink garnets from this great and closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition. On acrylic base.
Splendid!
