Fabulous crystal of very rare Garnet var. Grossular with grass green phantom from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The Grossular is transparent and gem with grass green core which is result of Chromium and surrounded by transparent colorless areas. The crystal has rhombic dodecahedral sharp crystallization, glassy luster and irresistible contrast. The green cored Garnets are among the most unusual and rare Jeffrey mine Garnets. This was mined long time ago - the mine is closed now. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some side contacts. On acrylic base.
