A beautiful specimen of corundum var. ruby crystals with black muscovite from Zazafotsy Quarry, Fianarantsoa Province, Madagascar. The ruby crystals to 26mm have a rich dark raspberry color and a good hexagonal shape. The luster is good. It displays some slight gemminess. It is fluorescent. Some natural imperfections. On acrylic base.
