Very uncommon type of Vesuvianite from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The crystals are opaque, almost colorless with light green hue and minor purple at the caps. The quality is excellent – the crystals have glassy lustrous faces which strongly reflect the light giving superb sparkling appearance. They have razor sharp and perfect prismatic habit with flat terminations. Overall a choice Vesuvianite from this great now closed mine. It displays attractively all over 360 degree. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In superb condition. On acrylic base.
Gorgeous rarity!
