Beautiful specimen of gem Baryte from this famous Saxon locality - Pohla, Germany. It was part of the collection of the German collector Dr. B. Schuhmacher, Berlin - comes with a label. It was mined in 1976. It displays sculptural and three dimensional cluster of well shaped Baryte crystals to 48mm. The color is very attractive – vivid and rich amber. The crystals are sharp, strongly lustrous, translucent to transparent and gem. Some crystals at the center are very clear and gem. Many crystals are doubly terminated. In good condition – some small nicks and contacts.
The golden Barytes from Pohla set the world standard and this is a fascinating specimen!
