Superb specimen of Cuprite crystals completely pseudomorphed by Copper from Poteryaevskoe Mine, Rubtsovskoe Cu-Zn-Pb deposit, Russia. Displays sharp Cuprite octahedrons intergrown together. Later the Cuprite has been replaced and pseudomorphed by Copper, keeping the octahedral shape. The unusual aspect of this pseudomorph is that the Copper forms small clusters with copper-brown color. Complete all over. For references see the issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 45, # 4, July-August 2014. In superb condition.
Killer pseudomorph!
