Exceptional specimen of emerald-green Chromian Vesuvianite – the rarest and most desirable color from the famous Jeffrey mine, Quebec, Canada. The perfect sharply terminated crystals are up to 10 mm in length. They have gorgeous and very intense dark emerald-green color due to Chromium. This is extremely rare color and usually the crystals are inosculated in the base. The color is the ultimate green that is possible to find from the mine. The quality is outstanding – gem crystals with very lustrous faces which strongly reflect the light giving superb sparkling appearance. Some lighter green Diopside adds a nice accent. Overall stunning green Vesuvianite from this great now closed mine. For references see the 2013 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. In excellent condition – some outside edge contacts. On acrylic base.
