Marvelous bright and gem blue Lazulite crystals from a new find in Rapid Creek - the famous phosphate deposits of Yukon. Actually this specimen comes from a brand new locality in Rapid Creek area – Mt Seafoam. Lazulite is a rare magnesium aluminum phosphate and some of the finest come from this locality. Lazulite crystals are sharp, highly lustrous, very well formed, monoclinic, deep indigo blue color measuring up to 2mm. The most amazing aspect is the gemminess of the crystals – they are transparent with marvelous and saturated blue-green colors. Some gemmy yellow-brown Siderite crystals add a nice accent. Some contacts. On acrylic base.
Superb gem Lazulite!
