Killer big crystal of Hematite decorated by gemmy Rutile crystals with epitaxial growth from Cavradi gorge, Switzerland. Cavradi Hematites are classic and highly treasured. The Hematite crystal has perfect plate shape with beveled terminations. It has superb quality, with extremely lustrous faces which nicely reflects the light and cool growth striations. The Hematite is iridescent and when properly lighted the iridescence becomes crazy – red, purple, blue, green, yellow etc. On both sides is seen epitaxial overgrowth of red Rutile crystals up to 5mm, aligned in the direction of the Hematite growth. Rutile crystals are well isolated, lustrous and gemmy. Minor white mineralization is present too. Very three dimensional and well shaped all over. Displays beautifully on both sides. In superb condition – very small contacts. On acrylic base.
