Fabulous and colorful Vesuvianite specimen. Vesuvianite crystals are purple with splendid and intensely colored fuchsia caps. They are gemmy with very flamboyant display. Vesuvianites have exemplary luster with very fresh look and are strongly light reflective. Very unusually on the Vesuvianite are grown well isolated, small gemmy and yellow crystals of an unidentified mineral, probably Apophyllite. Very fine Vesuvianite coloration – very vivid, very sparkling. Displays on both sides. For references see the 2103 issue of The Mineralogical Record vol. 44, # 4. Some contacts (seen on the photos). On acrylic base.
Eye candy!
